Community Citizen App

The civic engagement Internet tool 和悦社区 HeYue City (www.heyuecity.com) allows citizens from around China to constructively voice their suggestions on solutions for areas of improvement in their neighborhood. It allows citizens to come together locally to think through approaches, and allows local governments to see the top-rated solutions that they should take into consideration for action.  JUCCCE 聚思 and software developer Augmentum jointly developed the HeYue City app for web and mobile use.

HeYue City was launched March 31, 2013 at the China International Urbanization Forum which was co-organized by the China Center for Urban Development国家发展改革委城市发展中心, the World Economic Forum 世界经济论坛, and the World Bank. This forum in Baoshan, Shanghai, brought together delegates from around the world to explore innovations in tackling the challenges of fast-paced and large-scale urbanization.

Robin Ried, Head of Urban Development at the World Economic Forum, said "the delegates at the China International Urbanization Forum clearly called out the need for a way to engage citizens in helping government productively urbanize in a harmonious and healthy way. The timing of the Heyue City application launch could not be better."

Leonard Liu, CEO of Augmentum, says that “it just makes sense to tap into China’s digital citizens to create responsive neighborhood networks.” China has one of the biggest Internet populations, at over 500 million internet users. Of these people, more than 400 million access internet services from their mobile phones.“ Augmentum is proud to partner with one of China’s leading environmental organizations to help create tools for more harmonious civic engagement in China.”

About the China Dream initiative

The China Dream initiative is reimagining prosperity and reshaping consumerism in China. The goal is to catalyze sustainable habits in the China's consumer class by embedding them into the social norms of a new national identity: a Harmonious & Happy Dream. The China Dream is a co-created set of values by key opinion leaders curated by JUCCCE from a diverse group of sectors.

The HeYue City app is one of many channels to activate the China Dream social norms of working together to create a better future for us and our children.
